Traffic Anchor/Reporter
WAVY-TV 10 (NBC) / WVBT FOX 43 is looking for a dynamic journalist to anchor our morning traffic reports and turn compelling content as a reporter. Traffic is a big deal in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Nearly two million residents commute over bridges or through tunnels to get to work and school each day. We are looking for an energetic personality who knows how to impart vital traffic information in a smooth and calm manner. The right person will also be interested in shooting, editing and reporting content for television and digital platforms.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Produce and present traffic reports for all platforms including four and a half hours of morning news
Maintain social media accounts
Interact with official traffic sources and drivers to create informative reports
Produce and post content to WAVY.com
Shoot and edit stories for newscasts and website
Take part in station initiatives and events
Requirements & Skills:
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Flexibility to work any shift.
Personable, calm and authoritative on-air delivery
Experience with Traffic Max a plus
Physical Demands:
The Traffic Anchor/Reporter must be able to conduct interviews, write scripts, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work outdoors occasionally in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
