Newscast Director
WAVY-TV 10/WVBT FOX43 has an immediate full-time opening for an experienced, dynamic Director. This position is a multi-purposed job directing fast paced evening newscasts and studio operations for evening newscasts as assigned.
Experience:
Candidates must have one year directing live newscasts using control room automation system (Ross Overdrive or similar equipment).
Requirements:
Must have strong operational skills with Ross Overdrive or similar systems and robotic cameras system for live newscasts.
Must be able to work under regular pressure of live broadcast and operational deadlines.
Must be a problem solver and quick thinker, using technical know-how and strong communication skills to resolve existing issues and to work around problems that arise during live broadcasts.
Candidate must be willing and able to work any/all shifts, including mornings, weekends & Holidays.
Must be a strong self-starter, team player, and goal oriented.
A college degree in Communication desired.
Responsibilities:
Works with the news producers and production staff to deliver clean, high-energy newscasts and special programming.
Maintain production studio and control room.
Direct any assigned newscasts and productions.
Studio operations including, but not limited to, camera operations, teleprompter operations, moving set pieces, lighting, and working directly with on-air talent.
